Rescue Diver

Managing emergency situations: the course that makes you a better, more aware diver. 3 dives plus the React Right module.

Rescue Diver

Who is it for?

Autonomous divers who want to dive more calmly and help others.

Why this course?

Gain confidence and become a buddy others can rely on.

How it works

Step by step, from your first briefing to the water.

  1. 1

    React Right (first aid)

You learn the basics of diver emergency care: oxygen delivery, defibrillator, CPR. If you don't have a current first-aid card, it's included.

  2. 2

    Emergency-prevention theory

You learn to spot problems before they happen and to read stress in yourself and in others.

  3. 3

    3 scenario dives

Realistic scenarios at the surface and at depth: towing a tired diver, recovering an unconscious diver, searching for a missing one.

  4. 4

    SSI certification

At the end you receive your SSI Rescue Diver card, the key step before the pro pathway.

Rescue Diver

What to expect

It's the most demanding course, but many people's favourite. You no longer dive only for yourself, you watch out for the group. You learn to stay calm when others aren't. Afterwards you are a noticeably more aware and more relaxed diver.

What's included

  • 3 scenario dives
  • React Right module (first aid)
  • Emergency management at the surface and at depth

Requirements

  • Advanced Adventurer or equivalent
  • Recent first-aid certification (otherwise included)

Your certification

You earn the SSI Rescue Diver certification. It confirms that you can prevent and handle emergencies, and makes you a buddy others can rely on. It is the prerequisite for the Divemaster and the entry point to the professional pathway.

Good to know

Do I need a first-aid card already?

No. If you don't have a current one, the React Right module (first aid) is included in the course.

Is the course physically demanding?

It's more active than the earlier courses, but we adapt the scenarios to your level. No elite sport, just clean technique.

What are the prerequisites?

An Advanced Adventurer (or equivalent) and some diving experience. Talk to us and we'll check together.

How long does it take?

2 to 3 days, depending on the React Right module and the group.
